Sierra Running Company is proud to have a unique group of enthusiastic runners leading pace groups for the following finishing times:

- 4:00

Pace groups are designed to help participants reach the finish line while maintaining a predetermined pace, staying safe and most importantly, having FUN! Register with the pace groups at the Eye-Q Two Cities Marathon Health and Fitness Expo, November 5 or 6, 2010. Pace Coordinator Scott Bolin and the Pace Team will be on hand to answer any questions

Lake Tahoe Triple marathon, 6th place overall *Other pacing experiences:* This will be my first experience leading a pace group. *Other hobbies:* Are there other hobbies? I am an avid baseball fan, I ride my bike, hike and spend many hours a week at Starbucks. *Anything else you think your Pace Group would like to know about you:* If you are running this to qualify for Boston, stay with the group and you'll make it to Boston. Please no cell phones. If you've got the energy to hold a conversation, dial and run with one free arm, you should be running with the 3:10 group. Lastly, this is a mostly flat fairly fast course, I plan on running even splits throughout the 26 miles. Qualified for Boston and ran a negative split on a brutal course. *Number of ultramarathons completed:* 0, marathons are long enough. *Other pacing experiences:* This will be my first experience leading a pace group. *Other hobbies:* chasing kids; reading books about moutaineering, following college basketball. *Anything else you think your Pace Group would like to know about you:* All things done well are done with a sense of fun. I had just had major back surgery three months prior and had been told I would most likely never run again. I showed them!! *Number of ultramarathons completed:* 3, The Shadow of the Giants 50K, 9th Place overall. Skyline 50K, 20^th Place overall, and Montana De Oro 10^th place overall and 1^st in my age group. *Other pacing experiences:* I helped pace a close friend for the second half of the American River 50 mile run. Brutal! *Other hobbies:* Trail running, hiking, Team in Training. Drinking Sierra Nevada. Run, Run, Run!!! *Anything else you think your Pace Group would like to know about you:* I plan on running even splits throughout the 26 miles. During the last .2 miles we will make a mad dash for the finish! This course is a great course to qualify for Boston or achieve a PR. I am very passionate about running and how it has transformed me and brought so many wonderful people into my life. "What was hard to do, is sweet to remember"

I was just proud that I finished and reached my goal to make it less than 4 hours. *Number of ultramarathons completed:* 0 and don't plan on doing any in the near future. *Other pacing experiences:* This will be my first experience leading a pace group. *Other hobbies:* I love running, is there anything else! Just kidding, I love spending time with family and friends. I have started one of my lifelong dreams to learn to play piano. Take it from me; it is much harder to learn at my age which I realized when my 8 year old shows me up every day!* Anything else you think your Pace Group would like to know about you: * If you are freaking out because I have only done one marathon which wasn't far off your goal pace DON'T FREAK! I am splitting this group with Lisa and we will keep you on pace. I will start with you and run the first 16-17 miles then Lisa will take over. I am training to qualify for Boston at CIM in Dec. and just finished a training run of 18 miles at 8:07 pace and felt great! I bonked last year at mile 21 so take it from me, you want to stay with me at the beginning even if you feel great at mile 6. Do not take off because you feel like it is too slow, you will thank yourself for holding back when you get to mile 18. If you feel awesome at mile 18-20 then go for it! I look forward to meeting all of you, my goal is to keep you distracted and make it FUN!

*Pace Team Leader* *Name: Allan Abrams * *Home:* Morgan Hill, CA *Age:* 53 *Occupation:* Global Account Manager *Date and name of first marathon:* Los Angeles March 2001. *Number of marathons completed:* 26 *Number of Fresno Marathons completed:* 0 *Marathon** PR:* 3:28:58 *Marathon** Wins:* Yah, when I reincarnate as Bill Rodgers *Marathon finish of which you are most proud and why:* In 2008 I ran the Great Wall Marathon in China. The course included 7500 steps on the wall and just tore up my quads and calves. Part of the race took us through small farming villages where children lined the road clapping and handing out water bottles. It was my slowest Marathon but the people and scenery were fantastic. *Number of ultramarathons completed:* 3, Way Too Cool 50k (Twice) and American River 50M. *Other pacing experiences:* This will be my first experience leading a pace group. *Other hobbies:* I collect antique watches, specifically Hamilton electric watches from the 1960's. Running and time just go together. *Anything else you think your Pace Group would like to know about you:* I plan to run even splits and keep my group 1 minute ahead of pace to insure an on-time delivery at the 26.2 mile marker. Running should be fun and stress free so I plan to make this race as enjoyable as possible for everyone.

What stands out to me is my first marathon. When I crossed that finish line, It was the best and the worst feeling at the same time. The elation of conquering 26.2 miles was coupled with the 'Oh wow, that hurts' everytime I took a step. *Number of ultramarathons completed:* 0.. A few of them have felt like Ultras. *Other pacing experiences:* This will be my first experience leading a pace group. *Other hobbies:* Watching baseball, football.
